Avalon Recovery Society Women's Centre is a safe haven for women confronting addiction and trauma in Vancouver. Founded in 1990 by Helen Burnham and Virginia Giles, who shared the struggles of addiction, Avalon was born from the need for a judgment-free space where women could support each other during recovery.
Today, Avalon operates multiple drop-in centres in Vancouver, North Vancouver, and White Rock. Each centre offers peer support, wellness programs, and resources, serving hundreds of women each month. With a focus on compassionate care, Avalon continues to provide a nurturing community that empowers women on their path to healing.
